What will I see?
Antoni Gaudí
Antoni Gaudí was a visionary architect during the Modernisme period of Barcelona in the early 1900s. Most of his work are extraordinary buildings, and 7 of them have been listed as World Heritage by UNESCO, including the Sagrada Familia and Casa Batlló.
Open your eyes, your heart and your mind – to admire the way that Gaudí uses nature as a source of inspiration, what appears to be chaos is actually based on sophisticated mathematics. Every detail is full of surprises waiting to be discovered.
Sagrada Família
La Sagrada Familia, the jewel in the crown of Gaudí’s work. This temple is the synthesis of his concept of architecture. The wealth of detail and symbolism needs an explanation to fully appreciate this extraordinary monument.
EXTERIOR: Each facade explains a chapter of Jesus’ life. On the façade of the Birth you will see the Nativity Manger and on the other side, on the facade of the passion, you will find 3 scenes before the death of Jesus.
BASILICA: There are no words to describe the interior of the Sagrada Familia. The curved columns look like trees, the light inside plays in a constant change of colors.
Casa Batlló
Casa Batlló is not just a building, but a whole artistic legend. The exceptional façade reflects a calm sea and behind it hides a world full of amazing and refined architectural details.
It is one of the most particular buildings of the architect Antoni Gaudí, who with the originality and creativity of its forms has suggested to the popular tradition a diversity of names, such as “the house of bones”, or “the house of the dragon, ”among others.
Dalí Theatre-Museum
“I want my museum to be a unique block, a labyrinth, a great surreal object. It will be an absolutely theatrical museum. People who come to see him will leave with the feeling that they have had a theatrical dream.”
These are the words of Dalí in 1960, when he turned this red castle, decorated with its characteristic eggs and breads, from an old ruined theater. The structure, even today, is the most important surrealist space in the world. Dalí himself was involved in all aspects of the construction of his masterpiece: it is the perfect resting place for the master of surrealism. (Yes, Dalí’s crypt is below the stage floor of the theater).
The Dalí Museum is much more than a collection of works of art. There are extraordinary facilities such as the Rainy Taxi, the Mae West Room and the reimagined Sistine Chapel. You will find the Gala, Dalí’s wife and muse, all over the museum, and the Atomic Leda stands out.

Virtual Tour La Sagrada Familia, 5/5 stars
We joined a virtual tour run by our guide Abel. A fantastic experience, great to do whilst on ‘lock down’ at home. Abel was really knowledgable and able to share new information even to someone who has visited several times already. E.g. With the virtual tour we saw many aspects normally hidden in a physical tour: the past, sculptures above street level, or eye-line and future designs. Thoroughly recommended!
